What is copyright
Copyright meaning in Chinese It means "版权". Copyright refers to a collection of rights that are automatically granted to those who create original works (such as literary works, songs, movies, or software). These rights include copying a work, preparing a derivative work, distributing a copy, and the right to publicly perform and display the work.
To understand how to use or license these rights, it is helpful to compare them to a bundle of sticks, each of which represents one of the rights. The copyright owner has the right to retain each "stick", transfer it to one or more individuals individually, or collectively to one or more people. In short, copyright gives owners the option of making their copyrighted works available to the public.
The basis of copyright protection comes directly from the US Constitution. The planner believes that protecting the author's exclusive rights to his work for a limited period of time will “promote the advancement of science and practical art”.
The main purpose of copyright is to induce and reward authors by providing property rights to create new works and make them available to the public. In theory, by granting creators some exclusive rights to protect their creations from theft, they can earn the benefits of economic rewards, and the public can benefit from these creations (getting knowledge or letting I am happy, etc.).
Copyright law aims to enrich the public by acquiring creative works, and it is important that it does not require creators to provide their copyright works.
Of course, there are some restrictions on the rights granted to copyright holders. In some cases, anyone can use the work without the permission of the copyright owner and pay the copyright owner for the work. Fair use is a good example, where you can find more information about fair use.
Three basic requirements for copyright
Original: To be original, a piece of work can only be created independently. In other words, it can't be copied from other things. The work is not required to be novel (as in the patent law), unique, imaginative or creative.
Creativity: In order to meet the requirements of creativity, a work only needs to show little creativity. Few works cannot satisfy this requirement.
Fixed: In order to meet the fixed requirements, the work must be fixed in a tangible expression medium. As long as the work is sufficiently permanent or stable, it can be perceived, copied or otherwise conveyed for a short period of time and is considered fixed.
These three requirements do not constitute a difficult obstacle to copyright protection. In fact, unlike the protection requirements in patent or trademark law, works that are subject to copyright rarely meet these three requirements. The copyright owner is not required to register his work with the U.S. Copyright Office or to affix a copyright notice to the work for copyright protection.
Often, copyrighted works are protected for seventy years throughout the author's life cycle. If it is a joint work, copyright protection is granted for the life of the last surviving co-creator plus another 70 years. The term of protection for rental works and anonymous and pen-name works is 95 years from the date of first publication, or 120 years from the year of creation, whichever is shorter. When the term of protection of a copyrighted work expires, the work will enter the public domain.
Copyright time and year
Undated Copyright
Single Year
Years (Several Years)
A work listing multiple dates shows the date the copyright owner updated the work. The work usually lists the first date of the revision and then lists the new date. The material for the transfer of copyright also lists the year of the original copyright and the date of transfer of the copyright.Year Range (Year Range)
Some copyrighted works mark the date as a period, such as from 2000 to 2013. This indicates that copyright protection covers all updates or revisions during the period listed in the work.
Correct copyright (copyright) format
A properly formatted copyright statement in your literature, music, film or other artwork will show the public that your work is protected, identify you as the owner of the work, and ensure that if someone tries without your permission Publishing your work, then this person is infringing the copyright of your work.
step 1
step 2
As with "2011", insert a space after the "(c)" symbol and enter a number in the current year. If this is a new version of your work published earlier, you should also insert the previous year, followed by a comma and a space, and then put this year's number, such as "2000, 2011."
step 3
Insert a space after the current year and enter your legal name. Your final copyright notice should be in the following format: "(c)2011 Make Sen." If you have a co-author, the person's name will be displayed next to your name and marked with "and", for example "MakeSen and MattKayDiary ".
step 4
step 5
Protect unpublished works by placing the following copyright notice on unpublished works: "Unpublished work (c) 2011 MakeSen".Step 6
